We're, of course, cookbook fanatics and when we discovered FOOD52's cookbooks we were sold! These books are fabulously written, with the kinds of recipes you'll want to pour over all weekend. We found one book, in particular, that is perfect for Father's Day, so we've decided to highlight it here! THE BEER PANTRY is a brew book to cook by... and as the page states, "These aren’t your typical “beer” recipes; instead, think smoked beef brisket with rosemary confit potatoes. Think ricotta gnocchi with parmesan brodo. Think duck cassoulet and malted oat pecan cookies and mini stout milkshakes." Not every recipe includes beer but they are inspired and guided by the flavors of beer.
This book also comes with a Capper, which allows you to open and then reseal your beer.
I love hot tea and fresh French Press coffee! So, my electric kettle is always working. I've used quite a few electric kettles and the Bistro Electric Kettle is a gem. It's stylish, warms my water quickly, and has auto-shutoff. Get this and many other Bodum products at up to 30% off for a limited time!
Want a healthy pick-me-up in the middle of your afternoon? I add 3/4 cup bone broth, 1/2 cup of hot water, and 1/8 - 1/4 tsp Tajin spice! It's a good-for-you, tangy treat that will hold you over until dinner.
If one thing's certain these days, it's that the Coronavirus has ruined my grocery runs. It's now a masked sprint through one way aisles to grab and go and get out so I can fastidiously sanitize my hands. This weekly unpleasant field trip prompted me to look for more ways to shop, and I ultimately rediscovered Thrive Market. I recently joined as a member (you receive $20 off your first order!) and with that, I get 25-50% off retail prices of over 6000 organic, non-GMO, and sustainable products. My biggest concern right now, besides staying healthy, is price, so I'm happy to report that I can buy some of my favorite organic brands from Thrive Market considerably less than at my local grocery. Additionally, as long as you're over $49, you receive free shipping as well.
Another unique benefit of shopping at Thrive Market is that you can shop by diet. For example, if you're a vegan or eating only Keto, you can shop using a drop-down menu that will pull together all items on the site that meet your diet criteria. That's brilliant! Happy shopping!
It's a tough time for everyone including our local farms that depend on outlets like farmer's markets and general public visits to sell produce. Many of our local berry farms are offering drive-up/pick up services during the Coronavirus outbreak. Check out the link on this page to locate farms near you.
